TFS collects and repairs hand tools and sewing machines for the following trades; carpentry, joinery, blacksmithing, tinsmithing, mechanics, bicycle repair, plumbing, building, construction, shoemaking, tailoring & knitting.

We are particularly short of the following:- Drills - hand, breast, pillar, Woodworking and metalworking vices, Clamps/Sash Cramps, Tape measures/Steel Rules, Draw knives, Spoke shaves/ Saw Sets, Brace bits, Taps and dies - metric, imperial. Plane - jack, smoothing, rebate, plough, block etc, Heavy duty scissors, Blacksmithing tools - pullers, tongs, hot set, cold set, hand grinder, anvil etc. Shoemaking tools - knives, punches, hammers etc. Old sewing machines - hand, treadle or electric. We collect all the following sewing machines:- Singer, Brother, Novum, Alpha, New Home (Janome) & Jones (except old black ones). We are not able to collect lawn mowers or gardening tools or plastic-handled/hard-pointed saws.

The standard kit contains sufficient tools for a group of 4-6 persons, working together, to make a living. When a particular tool is scarce we pack the minimum amount to allow the group to operate.
